This Paper presents the mathematical modelling of the practical interacting two tank system and then designing the P, PI and PID controllers for controlling liquid level in the second tank single Input Single Output (SISO) model. P, PI and PID controller parameters are obtained by ZN open loop and closed loop tuning techniques and are compared with Integral square Error, Peak time, Raise time and settling Time . The controller for non-linear coupled tank system is designed in the MATLAB software in which set point is given as a unit step function. The coupled tank system is represented in the software by the differential equation model.
