A Study on Metacognition and Analyzing Metacognitive Behaviour among MBA Students in A B School

Abstract

Metacognitive knowledge is acquired by memory and experience, and is generally considered to be relatively stable. Metacognitive knowledge includes task, person, and strategy components. Metacognition consists of two components: knowledge and regulation. Metacognitive knowledge includes knowledge about oneself as a learner and the factors that might impact performance, knowledge about strategies, and knowledge about when and why to use strategies. Metacognitive regulation is the monitoring of one’s cognition and includes planning activities, awareness of comprehension and task performance, and evaluation of the efficacy of monitoring processes and strategies. The study investigates MBA students metacognitive behavior, we surveyed 69B School students the study had the objectives as 1. To explore the factors affecting MBA Students Metacognitive Behavior 2.To determine association between Self Actualization and Metacognition 3.To analyze the dimensions of metacognitive behavior 4. To identify problem solving behaviors of MBA students The results of the study states Assessment of metacognition behavior of MBA students are challenging for a number of reasons as metacognition is a complex construct, involving a number of different types of knowledge and Skills required.
