Cloud computing is a technology which shares the resource with high availability and scalability over a network. In other words, Cloud computing means storing and accessing data and programs over the Internet instead of one’s computer's hard drive. Based on the demand, the Cloud computing shares the resources to multiple clients dynamically. Now-a-days Storing, accessing and processing of data in cloud environment are the spiteful boundary in technology over the world. Security plays a vital role in storage and sharing of data among clients in cloud computing. In this article, an extensive survey on Similarity Detection Algorithm for data storage has been carried out. The various Similarity detection algorithms such as TSA and Position Aware Sampling Algorithm (PASA)are also surveyed and presented its strength and weakness are presented.
