Hofstede’s Organization Culture on Deviant Workplace Behavior (Case Study on Workers at Plaza Toyota Bandung)

Abstract

Deviant Workplace Behaviour (DWL) is an individual adaptation to the working environment by using emotion control, frustration and in satisfaction. This occurs in many organizations or companies like in this case are at Plaza Toyota Bandung. There are actually many factors that can cause DWL among employees. Culture is known as one of it factor. Using Hofstede dimensions of culture, Indonesia has the highest mark on Power Distance (PD) with 78 point. This indicates that there is a significant gap between the highest leaders at the company with employees. The research was carried on at Plaza Toyota Bandung and later the indications came up that the elements of PD (Power Distance), and IR (Indulgence/Restraint) were giving influence on behaviour of DWL. It is quite clearly that organization culture can persuade employees’ DWL at Plaza Toyota Bandung. As a results, Individualism / Collectivism (IC), Masculinity / Femininity (MF), and Long Term Orientation (LTO) have a negative influence on DWL. It means that in Plaza Toyota Bandung employees are focuses on their work for the future.720-
