The Effect of Leverage and Good Corporate Governance on Profitability in Banking Companies Listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange in the 2014-2016 Period

Abstract

This research aims to find out whether partially or jointly leverage and good corporate governance has an impact on the profitability of the banking company registered in BEI 2014-2016 period. The factor that was tested in this study is the debt to total assets ratio (DAR), debt to equity ratio (DER) and the composite value of GCG as an independent variable. While the net profit margin (NPM) as the dependent variable. Research methods used in this research is descriptive statistical methods. The sample in this research is as much as 29 banking company. Sample selection technique using a purposive sampling. Whereas the methods of analysis used is regression analysis of the data panel on the significance level of 5 %. The program used in analysing the data using Eviews 9. The result showed that partially also together DAR, DER, a composite value of GCG to NPM [1].
