As a developing country, Indonesia faces poverty, food security, and low Human Development Index (HDI) ratings that among other countries in the world. This study aims to determine the effect of poverty and HDI on food security and the effect of food security and HDI on poverty. This research used two stage least square (TSLS) analytical tool. The results show that the poverty and HDI has a significant effect on food security. Partially, poverty has a significant effect on food security, but HDI does not affect food security. Both food security and HDI have significant effect on poverty. Partially, food security has a significant effect on poverty, but HDI has no significant effect on poverty.
