Science Education as Driving Transformations to Sustainable and Safe Future

Abstract

Innovative changes are needed in science education to guide students how there science literacy can lead to sustainability. The priority goal of the science education should be proposed as construction of interdisciplinary teaching approach that leads to higher order skills such as problem solving, critical thinking and decision making . It will further help to work in their science discipline and beyond it to solve complex problems and lead to global sustainability. This research paper includes how the science education plays an important part in developing understanding of concept that underpin the environmental issues and leading to pro environmental behavior. This can be achieved by following the integrated approach of cognitive, affective and psychomotor domain.
