Abstract

Polyurethane (PU) is a versatile polymer that can be synthesized by the chemical reaction between diisocyanate group and polyols group. However, the cross-linking effect during the chemical reaction between those monomers produce some flaws in its properties. Therefore, these flaws limits its diffusivity in polymer system. The objective of this paper is to highlight the physical, chemical, and mechanical impact of the addition of chain extender in the PU structure. Systematic literature review using three databases from a search string related to the present study is carried out. From the findings, related literature has been selected to identify the effects of adding the chain extender in PU polymer.
