Fall is a significant threat to the health of adults, especially elder people age 65 and older. The higher the age, the impact of severity of the fall increases and could leads to more chronic consequences. Fall has been identified as one of the top ten causes of death for 65 years old and above age group. Yearly, it increases at an alarming rate. In Malaysia alone, a study stated that in nursing homes, it is a common accident that happened, while Hong Kong, Singapore and Taiwan have shown an increase. It can happen due to minimal or lack of human monitoring. Therefore, an idea came up to propose a real time detection system that can help in early detection and alert system. The proposed system made up of WEMOS D1 R2 small microprocessor, which has the same capacity as Arduino. It is combined with Axis accelerometer which measures the proper acceleration of a body and Gravity with acceleration sensors. This board acted as the device with a button that patient can push in case of emergency, it then will send message to the registered mobile phone number of the care taker or the nurse, stating the place happened. The person who receive the alert then will login to the hospital management system website to identify the patient. Black box testing has been done for the prototype for testing its functionality. It successfully passed the test.
