Research in mathematics education can be strengthened if researches will integrate affective issues into studies of cognition and instruction. There are several instruments to measure student’s attitude towards mathematics and usually tested using non-Filipino students. This study attempted to explore one of these instruments and reduce the number of variables of the instrument. The result produced different dimension from the original factors of the instrument except for one. The new factors were then used to predict the mathematics general weighted average of the students using hierarchical linear regression.
