Abstract

The aim of the current research was analysis of anatomical changes in flag leaves of three inbred lines of model plant Brachypodium distachyon upon infection with the pathogen Puccinia recondita, as well as alterations in the content of such pathogen-related components as chlorophylls, carotenoids and lignin. Flag leaves of the plants were collected on the experimental and control background, in the field. Kazakhstani population of fungus spores Puccinia recondite was used for infection of experimental plants of Brachypodium distachyon at the tillering phase. Appropriate generally accepted anatomical and biochemical methods were used in the study. In the course of the study, descriptions of the internal structure of the leaves of the studied lines of Brachypodium distachyon were given, comparative characteristic of morphometric parameters was given.
