Impact of Emotional Intelligence Factors on Employees Commitment and Moderation of Psychological Empowerment among Banking Industry in UAE

Abstract

The aim of study is to examine the impact of emotional intelligence factors on the employees’ commitment among workforce in UAE banks. In addition, psychological empowerment is examined as a moderator. Antecedent variables are the four factors of emotional intelligence; using emotions, managing emotions, perceiving emotions, and understanding emotions. The study is a quantitative research and use a well-structured survey that adapted from previous studies. Population of this study is all employees with managerial duties that works at any banks in United Arab Emirates. Data collection conduct in direct collection by using a printed survey and the data collected on the same day after giving enough time for respondents. The distributed surveys were 450 and the valid sample size after cleaning data is 388. The four different emotional intelligence factors have significant relations. However, moderation effect of psychological empowerment shows an overall non-significant impact.
