Abstract

IoT is an emergent phenomenon of the present smart world. It integrates with the physical objects in order to exchange the information with other objects which belongs to various domains such as smart home, smart city, industrial process, environmental monitoring and health organizations. The involvement of IoT devices are playing major role in day-to-day activities of the human. Presently, security and privacy of data are the main issues in the IoT. The intrusion detection systems are providing the protection of networks and transmission of information efficiently. However, implementing IDS to IoT is a challenging activity, because of constrained resource devices, low power of computing, low memory and constraint energy. The proposed approach in this paper is Hybrid IDS strategy in IoT (HISI) and the IDS has been applied to IoT devices in the smart hotel. The main objective of this paper is to identify the internal and external unauthorized users or attacks among the centralized and distributed IoT objects. Moreover, maintaining the data confidentiality, monitoring the traffic and efficiency of the IoT devices without any damage. This approach is robust to deal with various attacks. The performance of the proposed approach has been evaluated through numerical analysis and simulation. The results confirmed that the accuracy and effectiveness of the approach.
