Abstract

Water pollution from textile industry due to application of various types of dyes and discharge of dye effluent into the water bodies has become a serious global water issue. Nanomagnetic Biocarbon Composite (NBC) from coconut shell was synthesized and studied for the removal of Remazol Brilliant Blue R (RBBR) from aqueous solution. X-ray Diffraction (XRD) and FTIR analysis was used to characterize NBC and to determine the surface chemistry which aided the adsorption process. The optimized condition for RBBR removal was at 49.28 mg/L initial dye concentration, 0.24 g adsorbent dosage, pH 7.21, 37.99 minutes contact time and 75 μm
