An Efficient Energy Management System for Smart Homes Using IoT and Big Data

Through many technological innovation are taking place in this world, existing electricity consumption is soaring great heights and requires day to day monitoring to reduce the amount of power consumed. A Smart Energy Management System (EMS) can contribute towards cutting the costs while still meeting demand. The emerging technologies of Internet of Things (IoT) and Big Data can be utilized to better manage energy consumption in residential, commercial and industrial sector. This work focuses on Energy Management System (EMS) for smart homes. The system proposed utilizes an IoT base communication protocol based on well-established standards like MQTT which makes the system scalable. The system uses Internet of Things and smart Home Automation technique with Raspberry Pi 3 using IoT and it is done by sensors into a web application is proposed.
