Theoretical Bases of Teaching for the Development of Professional Competence of Students of Construction Specialties

Abstract

Actuality in the construction market forces design and construction organizations to develop increasingly interesting and geometrically complex structures. University graduates must meet new requirements for the professional activities of a specialist civil engineer in the implementation of the graphic part of the construction projects. However, the existing traditional approach to teaching graphic disciplines in a technical university is based on the fact that the amount of knowledge acquired by a student in the subjects laid down in the program of the state educational standard is a guarantee of the specialist's readiness for his activities in the construction industry. This position does not provide optimal success in the conditions of growing volumes of knowledge, lessening of study time and deterioration of graphic and mathematical pre-university training for students specializing in ―Construction of buildings and industrial structures‖, ―Structural Mechanics‖, ―Bridges and transport tunnels‖. To solve this problem, a new approach to the design of technology for teaching students of construction specialties in graphic disciplines is needed.
