Smart Waste Management(SWM) systems for Offices and Educational Institutes

Abstract

Waste management(WM) is the most challenging task in front of world mainly in developing countries like India. Awareness and improper waste segregation at the source end creating it as a challenging issue. The proper disposal of waste at the source is emergent requirement to get into the solution. In offices and educational institutes paper is the vital source of waste. If at early stage proper segregation and recycling measures will get handled then it will resolve educational waste issue and it will also show favour towards environment too. In this paper a SWM waste segregator is proposed, it has capability to separate paper, plastic and metal at the source. Electromagnetism concept is embedded to separate metals. Remaining part of the waste consist of paper and plastic. It works on the principle of wet and blower mechanism. This SWM system in its small version will effectively work as smart institutional bin.
