Multimedia plays an important role in any of the information exchange and communication entity. Due to increase in the demand of video and images through internet there is a necessity of video compression. Video compression has become an important technology to lessen memory space and to decrease the speed of transmission. In this paper theory of fractal coding is adopted to compress the varied Audio /Video interleaved videos. Here fractal H-V partition and Isosceles triangle segmentation approach is depicted. Fractal has a property of self-similarity. Fractal is best suited for natural images. Fractal achieves very high compression ratio and its decompression is very fast. Test results demonstrate that fractal H-V partition approach take more time to compress videos as compared to isosceles triangle approach. Performance is measured using computational time, compression ratio, PSNR (peak signal to noise ratio) and mean square error.
