Based on human voice types (both male and female), the silence/pause can be identified in each individual voice and can be efficiently utilized in improving spectrum efficiency in Mobile Networks. This paper presents an efficient protocol by name Intelligent Pause Detection Protocol (IPDP) developed based on Maximum Likelihood Estimation (MLE) model and DTX Algorithm which in turn can be used to enhance the performance of various vocoders used for speech processing in mobile networks.
