A blast test was conducted to obtain the blast pressure resulted from spherical shapes of military and commercial explosives. The military explosive known as a Plastic Explosive (PE4) and Emulex as a commercial explosives were used to test the behaviour of the charges after detonation. The objective of this reseach is to investigate the PE4 equivalent of spherical shape explosive at diffrent point of initiataion. In this experiment . A total of 18 explosive samples consist of nine (9) military explosive (PE4) and nine (9) samples of comerecial explosive (emulsion) were tested. Each of the charges weighed 500 gram and they were tested at the 1200mm of distance from the ground. There are 3 points of initiation has been designed along with the charges which are top, middle and bottom point of initiation to obtain the blast peak pressure result. From the experiment, the peak pressure value for PE4 and Emulex has been calculated into ratio to develop the PE4 equivalent against the Emulex. The results shows that the PE equivalent between 1.3 to 1.35 is the best describe the blast wave produce from emulsion explosive detonations.
