Abstract

Communication and collaboration skills are important abilities needed for 21st century learning. Communication is the process of delivering information, ideas, emotions, abilities, etc. Using symbols such as words, pictures, numbers and so on. One aspect the affect mathematics learning is communication skills. Learning models that can be used by teachers to improve communication skills are project-based learning models (PjBL). The research aims to analyze and design module based on PjBL for the Introduction of Basic Mathematics subject. This type of research is development research using the ADDIE model. The ADDIE model has stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The subjects of this study were 15 students of the Department of Mathematics Education of STKIP Kie Raha Ternate academic year 2019. Data collection instruments used observation guidelines and interview guidelines. This research found that it is necessary to develop an Introduction of Basic Mathematics module with KKNI standard. Module development is tailored to the characteristics of students. In addition, this research resulted in the design of the module based on PjBL to improve students' mathematical communication skills. The design of this module can be used as references by the teacher/lecturer in developing the module. Further research can be continued at the development, implementation, and evaluation stages.
