The article examines the current state of health care financing and ways to reform it. Despite the fact that the share of funds allocated for health care in the country is growing from year to year, in many foreign countries this figure is much higher than ours, as well as given the growth rate of the population of our country. It is obvious that the health care system and the level of medical services are part of the system that determines the living standards of the population. It can be shown that the development of medical services is associated with two important aspects that increase the well-being of the population. First, at the microeconomic level, budget allocations for medical services provided to each patient; second, the proportionality of the amount of taxes and other payments paid by the population per year at the macroeconomic level to the volume and quality of medical services provided.
