Based on long-term tests conducted in the Mangyshlak experimental botanical garden for the cultivation and propagation of irises, both cultivated varieties and wild species, we can conclude that the favorable climatic conditions of Mangyshlak allow growing irises without shelter for the winter. According to the results of the obtained data, it is established that all varieties of irises in arid conditions of Mangystau are highly drought-resistant. The plant does not respond well to the dry hot period, has a normal growth of shoots, characteristic for the taxon leaf color, leaf turgor can decrease during the day at maximum temperatures and solar insolation, but quickly recovers in the evening and morning hours.
