Abstract

In underdeveloped country, water is scarce and watering well is usually hand operated. Technological advancement makes process easier by harvesting solar energy which is very useful to generate power to pump water from the wells. The drawbacks from it is that the whole system are very costly to be build and the portability of it are constricted due to its huge size of devices such as solar panels that can sufficiently supply power to the water pump and also difficulties in transporting it to remote areas. In this paper, the development of the portable power generator is designed for supplying water to people at rural area. The project is able to control and monitor energy harvested by using Arduino UNO and Microsoft Excel for measuring certain parameters of the system such as voltage, circular motion of generator and volume of water that has been pumped. The whole system starts by pressing the push button 1 to power up the generator, the generated power goes to solar controller and the sensors will give signal to the Arduino which acts as the monitoring device. The output of the solar controller is connected to push button 2 which will supply the power to the DC pump. At the end of the study, it explains that the solar energy collected by the solar panel affects the energy generated. 20 V of power is able to be supplied by 70% of the whole day. However, the quality solar panel and good DC motors are essential to increase or improve the power, voltage and current for being generated.
