Telemedicine helps in rendering services to remote patients who are in distant places. Telemedicine assists the doctors to access, analyze and treat patients without patients making physical visits to the hospitals. It was evolved to reduce the risk at emergency situations and also at affordable rates. Details of patients are known through EHRs. Electronic Health records (EHRs) contain delicate and private data about the patient`s health conditions. The EHRs are needed to be shared among the network. These EHRs are to be protected when they are transferred through the network/ through third parties. Data Leakage has become a challenging task these days, which makes security and privacy a prior concern. Thus the “Blockchain” comes into the picture. Blockchain is a new trending and revolutionary technology which eliminates the risk of tampering and fraud. It emphasizes the security along with integrity, transparency and also confidentiality. This paves the way to build up safe EHRs and transfer them securely. The EHRs are shared among the nodes. Basically Blockchain contains the indexed values of the transactions and the actual EHRs are stored in the cloud. A Consortium Blockchain is used to record transactions.
