It is stated in numerous publications that the modern international trade is built based on specialization and cooperation among countries. However, no evidence of this backed by quantitative methods has been published. The authors of this article use correlation methods to prove that the international trade is largely developed due to the country's participation in international cooperation. The international trade in power equipment for power plants (steam boilers, steam turbines, nuclear reactors, and generating equipment) was chosen as the subject of the analysis.
