Empathy Rich Leaders sail through Covid-19 times with Flying Colors

The pandemic of Covid-19 has adversely affected everyday life and businesses around the globe. The pandemic is lasting since last 5 months and still its graph is increasing day by day. Organizations are suffering from massive losses due to the lock down. Organizations are bound to work from home. These times are the testing phases for the world leaders as how do they manage their businesses. Emotional intelligence or EI has become an assessment arena of modern organizations. It contributes more than the Intelligence Quotient (IQ) does for a leader. EI is the ability to aptly identify one‘s and others‘ emotions and manage them. During the crisis like all are facing currently, EI role comes into play. Emotional Intelligence is one of the most important traits when it comes to apply an effective leadership. The pandemic has not only impacted the sustenance of businesses but mental hygiene as well. This study is about the impact of one of the principles of emotional intelligence i.e. empathy on leadership effectiveness during Covid-19 times. The researcher will do a literature review to figure out a relationship between empathy and leadership effectiveness.
