Unfulfilled expectation makes anger and it sometimes burst into emotional feelings and it leads to violence also. Leave it to me is such a novel by Indian-American writer Bharati Mukherjee. The main concept of Mukherjee’s novels revolves around the theme of immigrant, expatriate, assimilation, and displacements. Bharati Mukherjee presents this novel with a cross-cultural concept and it binds the culture of India as well as America. This research paper comprises the theme of anger and its cause. Debby De Martino the protagonist of this novel searches her own identity and her biological parents. She is the adopted daughter of the Indian-American De Martino family. Leave It to Me is the story of suspense and involvement of Hindu Mythology related to the Goddesses Devi who is famous for justice. She leaves her present place and moves to America to find her biological parents. Debby approached the Detectives with the help of her lover, at last, she finds her bio-parents Jess her mother and Romeo Hawk is a drunkard father. Debby’s expectation of knowing her real parents brought drastic incidents in her life. This research article comprises the attempt of knowing how a normal woman Debby De Martino becomes Devi and the murderer of her father.
