An Efficient Vehicle Privacy Preservation Scheme with Enhanced Blowfish Encryption Algorithm for Ensuring Security in Vehicular Ad-Hoc Network (VANET)

The last few decades has seen the emergence of Vehicular Adhoc Network (VANET) in the research field. Currently, all vehicles are fitted with wireless communication systems such as Intelligent Transportation System (ITS). Security is considered to be the critical concern faced in the network security. Also in VANET, security is again a challenge. The vehicles share the message between the vehicles and Road Side Unit (RSU). Therefore, it is necessary to secure vehicles and also RSU. This work proposes the Vehicle Privacy Preservation scheme (VPPS) to secure the vehicle and improved blowfish encryption algorithm for RSU security. This technique ensures a safe communication between RSUs to OBUs (On-Board Units) fitted in vehicle. The resourcefulness and efficiency of VPPS is also demonstrated.
