Abstract

The study was focused on the proposal of stair climbing robots which has used for rough terrain applications. The problem statement is to provide more grip to the tyres of the robot, which can overcome by introducing an expandable tyre. The tyres which haveused here are an expandable type of tyres which will get expanded when an obstacle comes upon its way. Here proximity sensors are used to measure the distance between the stairs and the robot. Then this information is sent to the processing unit, and the tyres get expanded and move the robotic unit. If the obstacle is big, then the robotic unit moves back and finds another way to proceed. The structural analysis has done in ANSYS software.
