A 2–point –Diagonally Implicit Block Backward Differentiation Formula (–DIBBDF) is developed for the solution of stiff first order Ordinary Differential Equations (ODEs). This order two method operates by approximating two points concurrently in a block by using fixed step sizes. The existing diagonally implicit BBDF methods in the literature are in different order for the first and second points, but the proposed method has the same order for both points. Numerical results are provided to illustrate the efficiency of the proposed method compared to the existing methods in the literature. It is observed that the proposed method has improvement in terms of maximum error and computational time.
