Koganti Hyndavi, G Siva NageswaraRao
Abstract

Apple designed ios devices with security at its priority with advanced features like Face ID detection, Biometric authentication. The design and security characteristics have grabbed the attention of peers. iOS devices have only internal memory to store both system and application data. Each App will have separate sandbox which provides limited resources for the application functionality. iOS devices contain sensitive, encrypted data which contains passwords. To perform forensic acquisition from iOS devices by investigators with the help of commercial tools available are highly cost effective. Proper handling techniques are needed to bypass iOS devices which are locked and extract the dat. The software update, kernel patches flaws in ios devices make the device vulnerable and helps to exploit. Jailbreaking is the perspective used to gain root access and shred important artifacts from ios mobile phones. The tools ssh shell is used to establish connection from system to mobile, property list editor is used for the analysis of plist files and DBBrowser is used for database files(.db) examination.
