In this paper Mechanical and tribological behavior of aluminum-based metal matrix composite (Al7075) with Molybdenum Disulfide (MoS2) and SiC as reinforcements which was fabricated by stir casting. MMC’s are prepared in following compositions in terms of weight %, 92 % Al-3% MoS2-5% SiC;87 % Al- 3% MoS2- 10% SiC; 82% Al- 3% MoS2- 15% SiC., Micro structural studies of the prepared specimens disclose a homogeneous distribution of MoS2 and SiC particles in Al7075 matrix. The tribological behavior of properties of the MMC is also studied. By way of Taguchi and ANOVA technique best possible sliding order and consequence of factors on wear behavior of composites are identified. From wear results it is to conclude that wear resistance will be high when 10% of smaller particles were reinforced. Results obtained are supported by SEM images.
