Abstract

Bidirectional power flow is more important when an electrical braking is employed in the electric vehicle . For electrical applications, a bidirectional DC-DC converter is much more preferred when compared to the unidirectional DC-DC converter. T o recharge the battery with recovered energy, a bidirectional DC-DC converter i s g e n e r a l l y u s e d in electric vehicles. The non-isolated bidirect ional dc dc conver ter is more efficient compared to isolated converter. In this paper, some standard non-isolated bidirectional DC-DC converters have been analyzed and a novel DC-DC converter. The paper contribution is a novel topology with reduced number of switches for same performance w.r.t. a candidate conventional BDC .This topology has been compared and the result verified using PSIM simulation software .
