Signed Booth Multiplier Using Various Types of Adders

This paper discloses working of Signed Modified Booth Encoding Multiplier (SMBE) employing various adders and compares their results. The existing Modified Booth Encoding (MBE) Multiplier uses only conventional adders like Ripple Carry Adder (RCA). In this paper MBE multiplier produces products which are partial and their summing takes placeby making use of different combination of adders involving Carry Increment Adder (CIA), Carry Skip Adder (CSKA), Carry Look-ahead Adder (CLA), Carry Select Adder (CSLA), Carry Save Adder (CSA) and Hybrid adder. By employing MBE multiplier the partial product count is reduced to half the number of bits in the inputs. Thus, decline in partial products count minimizes hardware requirement and on- chip space. It has effect in bringing down consumed power and system price.
