Abstract

In recent days, the multi-feeder distribution network faces critical power-quality issues due to sudden load fluctuations, adoption of large-sized power-electronic devices, load unbalancing, fault conditions, etc. To counteract these issues, a significant multi-feeder compensation strategy is pre-requisite for acquiring improved power quality features at common-point of distribution system. In this paper, a Multi-Purpose UPQC is proposed to mitigate certain voltage and current allied power-quality issues and maintains stable power-flow between feeders to eliminate power-shortages by employing feasible control scheme. The development of feasible control scheme is inevitable because of mathematical functions, high transformations and computational delays. To alleviate abovespecified problems, a novel universal control scheme has been proposed for superior performance of MP-UPQC device. The performance analysis of proposed universal controller fed MP-UPQC device is verified under various load conditions by using Matlab/Simulink tool, simulation results are presented with improved features.
