This research intends to explore the multifaceted and multilevel roles that technology plays in the lives of older adults in Malaysia. Primarily, the psychosocial effects are to be focused upon as it creates a significant pull factor for older adults to adopt technologies; namely, experimentation behavior, ease of learning, perceived difficulties and usability. Physical wellbeing of older adults has been the core focus of various research efforts, with the lack of attention for mental wellbeing linked to social connections often perceived as a very subjective area. Thus, current efforts are to be reviewed in relation to ‘Innovative Ageing’ whereby an active lifestyle is built upon factors of mental and social wellbeing.
