Design and Analysis of Mutual Coupling Reduced and high isolation Multi Antenna System with the help of Meander lines and EBG Decoupling

Abstract

In this paper a MIMO antenna is designed with placoid Rectangular micro strip Antenna as elements. Intiallyone rectangular MSA is considered for the analysis which operates at 6GHz frequency.two such elements are placed on insulatorsubstrate Rogers RT/Duroid 5880(tm) to form the MIMO antenna.Currentlythe MIMO antenna performance is enhanced by reducing its mutual coupling and providing good isolation between the radiating elements with the use of decoupling network placed inbetween the elements on ground plane.Meander lines and EBG structuresare considered as the decoupling networks. The comparative analysis of the proposed MIMO antenna performance withand without decoupling is done with respect to return loss, radiation diagram,isolation S21, current distribution and different antenna parametersl
