Abstract

Technology in the form of social media is widely used by young people. Studies revealed that youngsters are being addicted and deviated from studies rather than exploring the usefulness of these social media. This paper discloses the theoretical background from various studies conducted on the influence of social media and other technology among youngsters and how it brought changes in their way of life. It also divulges the wide-ranging and utmost prevalent social media used by contemporary generation students in higher education institutions. These findings will be an eye opener for the parents, teachers, educational institutions and the government to understand the reality of students thought process with the introversion of social media in their life.
