Determinants of Profitability in Indian Nationalized Banks

Abstract

Nationalized banks play an active role for the economic progress of our country. The success of a nationalized bank depends on the amount of profit it earns. Nationalized have to earn necessary profits for their growth and existence. Profitability is the significant factor to evaluate the bank survival. Thus, an attempt has been made in this study to determine profitability among select nationalized banks in India. The result of regression disclose that interest earned, other income, interest expended, Non-Performing Assets and Credit Deposit Ratio significantly influences profitability of nationalized banks.
