Many individuals suffer from the locked-in condition due to diseases like amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, a brain stem stroke or a spinal cord injury. This situation disconnects them from society. Even for basic needs, they were unable to communicate to the caretaker. A brain-computer interface (BCI) can be a better solution for such patients for communication. There are various methods to read brain activity. One such system is EEG which provides good temporal resolution, portability and economical compared to other methods. Here this work brings out the comparisons between classification algorithms used in current research works and identify the gap between them.
