Dynamic Stability Analysis Using DFIG based Windfarm and Statcom for the Security of the Power System

The stability analysis is one of the key factors in maintaining the power system stability using generator’s rotor angle. If the rotor angle is deviated after the fault conditions then the entire power system is unstable. The stability analysis is carried out to calculate the relay timing parameters. In this paper L-G fault is created in the standard IEEE 14 bus system with the wind farm (DFIG)) and the static synchronous compensator (STATCOM) are used to stabilize the system. The system is constructed using dynamic simulations and the stability analysis is done for different cases. Here PSAT is used for testing the results.
