At hree phase seven level cascaded multilevel inverter fed with permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) with reduction in switches is presented in this paper. This paper also analyzes the performance of the proposed drive system using the fuzzy controller. The pulses to the switches of the inverter are generated by using sinusoidal pulse width modulation technique depending on field oriented control(FOC) strategy. For controlling the speed of PMSM fed with three phase seven level inverter, a fuzzy logic controller is used to amplify the error, which is between the Speed command and feed-back speed. The performance of the proposed system with fuzzy logic controller based on FOC of PMSM is presented, and comparison of responses without fuzzy logic controller and with FLC based on FOC are provided in the simulation results.
