Work Motivation and Compensation Towardswork Stress And Employee Performance

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of work motivation on employee stress, compensation on employee stress, work motivation on employee performance, compensation on employee performance and stress on employee performance. The population of this study are 30 employees of Syariah Mandiri Bank, Regional Office V Surabaya, Indonesia. The sampling technique applied saturated sampling so the samples were 30 respondents. The analysis used was path analysis by using multiple regression structural equation. As the results, work motivation had no significant effect on employee stress; compensation had a significant effect on employee stress; work motivation had a significant effect on employee performance; compensation had a significant effect on employee performance; and stress had a significant effect on employee performance. In conclusion, the employees’ stress was not an intervening relationship between their work motivation and performance. Instead the stress was a partial intervening relationship between compensation and employee performance.
