The article considers the urgency of studying the influence of land salinity as a manifestation of external effects (externalities) on agricultural production, analyzes approaches to the study of this phenomenon from the point of view of transaction costs, and also performs a correlation-regression analysis between the degree of salinity of the land and the volume of crop production, as well as between the change in the volume of crop production and livestock production, based on the results of which the corresponding conclusions are made.
