This study is about the analysis of casting defects that are occurring in the older model dies for a product and to reduce the chances of getting defects and to increase the perfection of the product. In a die various kinds of casting defects can occur due to the improper finishing of the machining operations. This cause the manufacturer to invest more cost in the die manufacturing, as this result in the increase of manufacturing cost. This paper is focused on the design and analysis of casting defects, whereas to reduce the manufacturing cost of a product. To maintain the closest tolerances, reduced all machining and can make the process the optimum choice for small volume production as well. In this work a die was designed based on factors to be considered in the critical dimensions and filling analysis is used to determine the size, location and to ensure a complete and balanced filling of the part while designing.
