Finite Element Analysis of Cellular Cofferdam by Using Flow 3D Program

Abstract

In this paper, analysis of cellular coffer dam by using the software FLOW 3D (Analysis System) (version 12.1) computer program, Each cell represented as sheet pile filling soil,. Analysis was performed for two kind of cellular cofferdam diaphragm and circular there effects on wave load, Sheet pile cells consisted of depth 0.3m diameter cells 0.3m height of 0.3m. The entire undertaking took into consideration the USACE Engineering Manual, with a focus on factors of safety. Single diaghram and circular cell of width to height ratio b/H (1.00) has been analyzed. Then, the cofferdam is modelled by using finite element code FLOW 3D. The analysis includes studying the effect of height, width, and Period time. The input data of cell that are used in this software are getting from real cases in USA. It can see that the circular cells subjected on wave load is given lower pressure wave load than the daiphargm cells in same ratio b/h=1 and same conditions.
