Abstract

Fossil fuels have been the major provider of energy for decades but it is bitter truth that it is depleting every moment because of overutilization and increase in load demand. It is high time for us to search for an alternate means and to design a new system to fulfill the load demand of the consumers. The renewable energy system has become a high prior option due to its availability, pollution free, replenish property, but on the same time reliability of such sources is also in question, hence hybrid renewable energy system comes into picture, but what about the cost involvements in such noble system. Optimization of such system is the need of hour, in this paper an attempt is made to optimize the energy cost of particular area called Latin in Manipur, India considering the area totally isolated from main grid. HOMER (Hybrid Optimization Model for Electric Renewable) Pro software is used for this purpose.
