In development of the approach to the analysis of the flow in axial compressor stages on the basis of the results of wind tunnel test, an algorithm and a computer program were developed for calculating stages with the movement of gas along conical surfaces and with a possible change of the flow rate in the stage control planes (nonhomogeneous stage). The presented results of the calculation analysis showed a noticeable effect of “nonhomogeneity” on the flow parameters and stage efficiency. The ways of optimizing the flow path are shown by choosing rational values of the diffusion factor, cascade pitch-chord ratio and method of constructing the threedimensional flow using a specific stage as an example.
