Shaping Organizational Citizenship Behavior and Workforce Well-being: Causal Role of Psychological Capital

Organizations face multifaceted problems in shape of declining employee productivity, poor employee commitment, and decreasing employee well-being. Positive work attitudes like voluntary organizational citizenship behaviors, workforce commitment, and well-being of employees are important determinants for attending sustainable development for any organization. The study is conducted with aim to know whether PsyCap has positive relationship with employees’ organizational citizenship behaviors and workforce well-being. In order to fulfill the objective a sample of 247 respondents, working in four steel manufacturing organizations situated in Odisha state of India were considered. Findings of this study implicated that PsyCap is positively related to OCBs and PsyCap is also positively associated with workforce well-being. Theoretically, these findings suggest that PsyCap construct showed external validity in Indian context with respect to workforce well-being and OCBs which implicated that PsyCap training might be given to employees for their development of OCBs and workforce well-being.
